A Strictly Come Dancing audience member has revealed behind-the-scenes secrets from the live shows, including that one host was forced to redo their lines by a member of the production team.
Taking to social media, Poppy Morrison said: "You don't see how they reshoot lines, which doesn't happen loads but sometimes people trip over words … and sometimes they want different versions of things."
Johannes Radebe's reshoots and group numbers
Morrison added: "When they did the group number, Johannes did two versions, with the judges' full names and one with just the judges' first names."
This comes after the former show professional shifted from competing with a celebrity dance partner to co-hosting Strictly alongside Emma Willis and Josh Widdecombe. Despite this, the South African native still dances in some capacity, taking part in the group routines before heading to the Clauditorium to speak to the contestants and prepare them for their weekly scores.
Motsi Mabuse's comment reshot
The audience member also revealed that Motsi Mabuse was forced to change her feedback during the show, saying: "Motsi's comment after Melanie got through was reshot, and I think it's because the first time she said it longer and they wanted a more condensed version."
This isn't the first time fans have taken to social media with claims about Johannes' hosting skills, after the trio were hit with complaints following their debut. One fan took to Reddit to share their take on the second live show of the series, which saw Melanie Walters become the second celebrity to be dumped from the show alongside pro Aljaz Skorjanec.
Fan criticism and Brendan Cole's view
Despite the harsh criticism Josh has faced, this viewer said that the comedian was "much funnier in person" and that both Emma and Josh were "pretty solid in terms of their presenting duties". The former pro was claimed to have "constantly messing up his lines" when it came to the pre-recorded results show, and "added so much time to the interviews" doing retakes.
They penned: "The results show is where things started to get tiring. Johannes was easily the worst culprit for constantly messing up his lines from the teleprompter, and it added so much time to the interviews he and Josh would do upstairs, as they had to constantly do another take over and over."
Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Brendan Cole previously shared his thoughts on the new host, noting: "There's been a massive backlash to the hosts because it's not what people are used to. I'm not enjoying it so far." During an appearance on Jeremy Vine, he said: "I think Emma has been great. I think Josh is trying to be great and I don't think he's a bad host, but does he fit Strictly? I'm not sure." While Brendan, who was a pro on Strictly from 2004 to 2017, acknowledged that Johannes fits Strictly because he used to be a professional on the show, he doesn't want to hear "my darling" repeatedly said every time a pairing comes upstairs.
Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday on BBC One and iPlayer at 6.15pm.
