Sinitta Alleges Producers Overlooked Her Input in I'm A Celebrity South Africa Comeback
Singer Sinitta has made startling claims that the production team behind I'm A Celebrity... South Africa disregarded her specific requests regarding challenges as she returns for the show's second series. The 62-year-old, who first appeared on the programme in 2011, is among 12 celebrities vying for the title of 'Legend of the Jungle' in this All-Stars spin-off, which premieres tonight on ITV.
A Return to Conquer Fears
Sinitta admitted she initially signed up for the show with the hope that the experience would help "cure" her fears, despite being "scared of everything". Reflecting on her previous stint, where she faced multiple Bushtucker Trials and was eliminated early, she described it as a "crazy, awful experience". In an interview with OJ Borg on The Radio 2 Breakfast Show, she explained her motivation for returning: "I wanted to go back and come away feeling positive about it this time."
Producers Accused of Ignoring Requests
However, Sinitta revealed that her preparations were undermined by the show's bosses. She stated that she clearly outlined what challenges she was willing to undertake based on her past experience. "I made it clear - I know now what I can and can’t do and what I will and won’t do, and I laid all that down," she said. Despite extensive pre-show interviews, she claimed: "When we got there, they ignored everything I said," adding with a laugh that it was a surprising turn of events.
Format Changes and Competition Details
The new series features a modified format where campmates, rather than the public, decide who faces the trials. Sinitta noted: "This time we kind of decide amongst ourselves who would be best for the trials, and you can also nominate yourself or opt out." She also teased that she may have uttered the iconic phrase "I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!" during a challenge.
Filmed in Kruger National Park in September 2025, the pre-recorded series includes other returning stars such as Mo Farah, Gemma Collins, and Harry Redknapp. A live final with public voting is scheduled for later this month. I'm A Celebrity South Africa: Sneak Peek airs tonight at 9pm on ITV and ITVX.
