Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) is closing in on Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) in Emmerdale, but her motives are far from friendly. The hunt is on for Jimmy King’s (Nick Miles) secret stash of money, and Sadie will stop at nothing to find it.
Sadie returned to the village shortly after Jimmy’s sudden death, claiming she was back to pay her respects. Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) immediately sensed she was hiding something. Sadie then revealed that for three years, she had been in a secret relationship with Jimmy – leaving Nicola stunned.
For a while, Nicola remained convinced Sadie was lying, but the ruthless woman backed up her claims by sharing very realistic selfies taken with Jimmy over the years. Unbeknownst to Nicola, the pictures are actually fake.
Sadie’s true motive
Sadie has no interest in connecting with Nicola or preparing for Jimmy’s emotional send-off. The only thing she cares about is, unsurprisingly, money. Sadie and her sidekick Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) know that Jimmy stashed a large amount of cash somewhere – and that’s literally all they know.
It’s a needle in a haystack, but the haystack is the small village of Emmerdale – can’t be that hard, surely?
Coming up, Sadie and Robert wonder if Jimmy’s cash is hidden at the depot. To get close to Ruby, Sadie pretends to be interested in her wine business. As they bond and sample some wine, Sadie seizes a moment and searches for the money.
A near miss
Unfortunately, she’s caught by Caleb Miligan (William Ash). Quickly creating a cover story, Ruby claims that she’s looking for Jimmy’s money so she can give it to Nicola.
Later, Sadie continues chatting to a drunken Ruby, but nearly gives away her secret when she lets slip about a fling with Federico in New York last Christmas. The next day, Sadie scrambles to cover her tracks when Ruby starts asking questions.
She updates Robert over what happened, and he thinks they should just admit defeat and accept they won’t find the cash. Sadie remains determined, though – she believes they can find the money, convinced it will be worth it.
