Rob Beckett has been murdered on Celebrity Traitors after the three Traitors carried out a face-to-face murder, forcing him to leave the castle immediately. The BBC show, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, features James Acaster, Maya Jama and Professor Hannah Fry as the Traitors deceiving the Faithful.
Face-to-face murder cliffhanger
In a cliffhanger, four Faithfuls were selected, with one set to be murdered face-to-face. Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Romesh Ranganathan, Ross Kemp and Rob Beckett were hidden within the castle's grounds, waiting for a knock at the door.
It was Rob who was murdered by the three Traitors on Thursday (October 15), with James declaring: "Rob Beckett, you have been murdered." Rob responded: "It's over, I'm a dead man."
Romesh's emotional reaction
Rob added: "It's been amazing, I will cherish my memories," before promising that his best mate Romesh would seek vengeance for his death.
Romesh, meanwhile, tearfully confessed to cameras: "I feel like I let Rob down, because Rob is so unthreatening that he's never going to get banished. He's the guy that we should have given the key to, and he also happens to be one of my best friends. I'm sad, it's not going to be the same without him."
Fans left devastated
Viewers were left devastated by Rob's departure, with one commenting: "I'm absolutely gutted that Rob has gone." Another stated: "It's actually sick to split up Romesh and Rob."
"Fuming they've split up Rob and Rom," another concurred. Someone else added: "Gutted for Rob, he was fantastic." Yet another wrote: "Who do you mean I'm crying over Romesh getting upset that Rob is gone?"
Ahead of the new series, which also features James Blunt, Miranda Hart and Michael Sheen among the cast, Rob expressed his fondness for the show. He shared: "Me and my family loved the first one. I watched it with the kids. It's first thing we watched as a family that we all enjoyed at the same time. We watched the final together on holiday and had a great time. So, the family are all behind me and really happy and supportive."
Discussing being part of the programme alongside other comedians and mates of his, he reflected: "It's quite a reflective moment to consider this journey we've all gone on to now be on the biggest show on TV. Everyone wants to be on it, and we're very lucky to be here and to be here with friends and people that I've come through the ranks with and been able to confide in over the years. It's quite nice to see all of us here as grown-ups."
The Celebrity Traitors continues on Friday at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
