Mathematician Hannah Fry has been banished from Celebrity Traitors after receiving all but two of the votes from fellow contestants during the round table banishment. The Cambridge professor, who had been recruited as a Traitor earlier in the series, described the experience as "the wildest roller coaster I have ever been on."
Celebs Celebrate Second Traitor Catch
The celebrities celebrated wildly after catching their second Traitor of the series, giving the current cast an unprecedented 50 percent success rate having banished two Faithfuls and two Traitors so far. Emotional Fry called the experience "intense" and said afterwards: "I laughed more, cried more and got more excited than I ever have in the entirety of the rest of my life combined, it's amazing."
Her exit came after she and fellow Traitors had 'murdered' comic Rob Beckett in plain sight following a game of Hide & Seek. She laughed: "Killing Rob Beckett was one of the best evenings I've had in my entire life. I was running through the woods in the middle of the night, opening the door to Rob Beckett's face. It was delightful."
Fry Admits Struggles as a Traitor
However, Hannah - who had come up with a special database to catch Traitors prior to going into the castle - admitted she struggled being a Traitor herself. "I really preferred being Faithful," she said. "It's so much more stressful being a Traitor. I really hate lying to people's faces. I think there's actually some pride in being a rubbish Traitor."
Fry, 42, is now backing a fellow Traitor to go all the way. "I think Maya (will win)," she revealed. "Leigh-Anne needs to keep quiet about how good she is because I don't think people have necessarily noticed, but as soon as Maya notices that Leigh-Anne is that good, she's going to kill her."
Secret Family Connection Exposed
Fry is also backing comedian Joanne McNally after revealing they are secretly related. She spilled: "We actually discovered that we're cousins, by marriage. So her cousin is married to my cousin. We're basically sisters. I really loved her so much. I'd love an all-girl final - Sharon, Miranda, Joanne, Leigh-Anne and Maya."
In last night's episode the celebrities embarked on another gruelling mission which involved dragging heavy carts of gold through gates that would only open after solving a puzzle. It was made twice as hard by a wall of hooded figures chasing them, known as the Death Parade. Joe Lycett found the game disturbing: "I've not been so unsettled since I saw Jedward in concert."
Death Parade Seals Fry's Fate
Celebrities that were caught could not return to the castle until the Round Table and all three traitors ended up in a cage meaning they could not influence opinions ahead of the vote, ultimately sealing Fry's fate.
Earlier suspicion had began mounting on paranoid Ross Kemp after he avoided murder again. The EastEnders star said he was "angry" that "a lot of eyes are on me." Joanne McNally claimed it was his eyes that was the problem: "he has not blinked since we've been here - he's giving cyborg."
However, Fry could no longer defend herself and Miranda Hart led a celebrity gallop through the corridors of the castle after catching her. Later in the turret the two remaining Traitors James Acaster and Maya Jama agreed to recruit boxer King Kenny into their gang. He accepted and although shocked to discover their identities, quickly adapted to the new role cackling: "the Faithfuls are doomed!"
