Rob Beckett backs Romesh Ranganathan to avenge his murder

Rob Beckett is confident pal Romesh Ranganathan will avenge his murder and catch James Acaster. The comedian, 40, giggled as he was taken out by the Traitors early on the latest episode.

“Wallop,” he said. "My boy Romesh will avenge my death and he will get them." He predicted Romesh would unveil Acaster and "take his sorry ass to the cleaners."

Romesh kisses Rob’s picture

Romesh missed his mate and even kissed Beckett’s picture as it was removed from the castle wall during breakfast the next day. Beckett never had a doubt over Romesh’s innocence: "I know him like a brother, and I knew, as soon as I looked him in the eye, that he was a Faithful, and he knew I was a Faithful."

Beckett kicks the bucket

However, the comic was ready to go and found it "funny when we get it wrong". He added: "I feel like I've done almost all of it. I was really missing the kids, so I'm happy to go - the kids wanted me to do it, and I've done five episodes and been murdered. Let daddy have a day off!"

He knew his number was up early on though: "Basically, my game was to stay quiet and stay under the radar until the herd is thinned and then strike. But I was the herd that was thinned, so it didn't really work out."

Bash Croft’s new single

Meanwhile James Blunt is facing chart competition from fellow Faithful Bash Croft. The actor, best known for his role in Netflix show Heartstopper, has just released a new single called Good Life.

The jangly ear-worm arrives a week after fellow Celebrity Traitors star James Blunt unveiled new music. Bash, 24, cites David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, and George Michael as his ultimate musical heroes and calls it "pop music through a queer lens."

Bash told Rolling Stone: "There was something so cathartic [about it]... It was like this personal song that was written just for me." An EP titled The Great Forever is expected to follow soon.
