Richard E Grant's time in Celebrity Traitors appears to be nearly over, with his chances of surviving beyond the opening moments of the next episode looking extremely slim. The actor's chaotic entrance, which included an immediate blurting out of information, was described by host Claudia as "iconic", though a more fitting description might be "idiotic".
The editing of the second episode gave viewers a clear sense of the direction of the round-table arguments, with Grant facing what looks like a hurricane of suspicion. However, the show stopped short of revealing names written on slates, presumably to avoid giving away the outcome entirely.
A landslide victory for the Faithful
The prediction is that the Faithful will secure a landslide victory against Richard, sending him home from the castle. This would leave Maya and James as the remaining resident villains, with new recruit James already appearing shaky in the role.
James has made it abundantly clear he does not want to be a Traitor, and his reluctance is becoming a compelling storyline. Never before in the show's history has a contestant, celebrity or civilian, been so unwilling to wear the green cloak. He fears his comedy friends will see through him if he tells even the smallest lie, so he has apparently decided not to attempt any deception.
James fails to defend himself
This explains his poor defence when asked directly whether he had been recruited overnight. "Er, you're thinking in the right direction," he spluttered unconvincingly. Unless he can master some subterfuge, he will not last long either.
