Express readers have shared their least favourite star on Celebrity Traitors after the show returned to screens on Thursday (October 1) with a dramatic season two premiere.
Explosive premiere at Ardross Castle
Claudia Winkleman returned as host as 21 celebrities travelled to Scotland's Ardross Castle for the game of deception. The line-up includes Bella Ramsey, James Blunt, King Kenny, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jerry Hall, Julie Hesmondhalgh, Michael Sheen, Miranda Hart, Myha'la, Richard E. Grant, Ross Kemp, Sebastian Croft, Sharon Rooney, James Acaster, Joanne McNally, Joe Lycett, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Amol Rajan, Maya Jama and Professor Hannah Fry.
Viewers watched the stars swap their luxurious lifestyles to work out which among them could be a Traitor. Nerves were high as Richard broke the main rule of being a Traitor, abruptly answering: "I'm a traitor," when asked by the stars.
Fans react to Richard's slip-up
Although he tried to play it off as a joke and broke out laughing, his confession raised questions as doubt crept in. The moment sparked a major outcry on X/Twitter, with fans predicting Richard could be the first to be voted off, while also highlighting him as a favourite for his genuine glee at being a deceiver.
Richard was left taken aback by his own admission, saying in the confessionals: "Well, that may be the biggest mistake I have ever made in my life. I was so thrilled to have been chosen as a Traitor that, in my unguarded excitement, I said, 'Of course, I'm a Traitor.' I clearly need to defuse all the heat that's coming in my direction."
Cliffhanger ending
Alongside Richard, Maya was also named as a Traitor. Together they opted to recruit Amol and James, leaving the duo competing for one space or facing being killed. Their decision is yet to be seen as the episode ended on a major cliffhanger.
