Celebrity Traitors viewers were left in hysterics over Maya Jama's eye-catching outfit, with fans comparing her fluffy yellow look to the iconic Honey Monster mascot.
The presenter was back on screen for another instalment of the hit celebrity reality show, but it was her distinctive appearance that quickly became the main talking point online. Within moments, viewers took to social media to share their verdicts, with several unable to resist making comparisons to the famous yellow cereal mascot.
Fans share Honey Monster comparisons
One viewer wrote: “Wow, what an outfit, looks like Maya is getting hugged by a big Honey Monster”. Another joked: “I think I have just witnessed The Honey Monster give birth to #Maya... #CelebrityTraitors”.
The comparisons kept coming as more viewers spotted the resemblance. “Maya giving me honey monster vibes tonight #thetraitors #traitors,” one fan posted. Another suggested Maya had borrowed the mascot's wardrobe, writing: “Maya, the honey monster called, he wants his coat back! #CelebrityTraitors”.
Outfit becomes night's biggest talking point
The comments quickly turned Maya's fashion choice into one of the night's biggest talking points, with fans seemingly more interested in the outfit than whatever treachery was unfolding around the round table. Maya has become known for serving up a string of glamorous looks while hosting the show, regularly leaving viewers commenting on her outfits as much as the latest twists and turns.
But her latest look clearly caught people off guard, with the fluffy yellow appearance proving particularly memorable for Celebrity Traitors fans. The Honey Monster, the instantly recognisable mascot associated with Honey Monster Puffs cereal, has been a familiar face in British advertising for decades.
Fans play detective over presenter's look
While Maya may not have been deliberately channelling the character, viewers certainly couldn't unsee the resemblance. Celebrity Traitors has already provided plenty of drama, suspicion and backstabbing, but Maya's outfit offered viewers a welcome excuse to focus on something slightly less serious.
The show sees a host of famous faces thrown into the Traitors' castle, where contestants must try to work out who among them is secretly working against the group. Maya has been at the centre of the action as presenter, guiding viewers through the betrayals, dramatic reveals and increasingly suspicious contestants.
Social media users wasted little time turning the look into a running joke, with the Honey Monster comparisons spreading as the episode unfolded. Whether Maya intended to serve Honey Monster realness or not, viewers certainly had their verdict, and judging by the reaction online, her latest Celebrity Traitors outfit may be one of the most talked-about looks of the series.
