Rarely seen royal set to join hit TV dancing show

Leah Isadora Behn, the daughter of Princess Martha Louise and granddaughter of King Harald V and Queen Sonja, will appear on Norway's equivalent of Strictly Come Dancing, called Skal vi danse. The show, whose title translates to "Shall we dance?" in English, is a popular reality TV dancing competition and part of the international Dancing with the Stars franchise.

Royal announcement

Announcing the news on her Instagram account, the royal wrote: “SUPRISE!!!! denne høsten blir crazy.” This translates to: “SURPRISE!!!! This fall will be crazy.” The post showed a photograph of the royal wearing a sleeveless baby-blue ballgown sitting on a disco ball.

Fan and family reactions

Norwegian royal fans appeared to be excited by the news, with many commenting on the Instagram post. One person wrote: “I'm rooting for you.” Another said: “So much fun. Looking forward to following along.” Leah’s stepfather Shaman Durek Verrett, who married Leah’s mother in 2024, commented: “So proud of you angel.” He shared Leah’s post on his own Instagram story, writing: “My beautiful bonus daughter.”

Previous TV experience

This is not the first time Leah, 21, has been on TV. The King’s granddaughter also starred on Norway's version of The Traitors last year. She may not have won the battle of traitors and faithfuls but is understood to have enjoyed participating.
