Emmerdale residents are set to receive a wave of mystery letters, with spoilers hinting the sender may be linked to the deaths of Jimmy King (Nick Miles) and Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley).
Earlier this year, Jimmy crashed his car into the wedding marquee of Dawn and Joe Tate (Ned Porteous). Jimmy died hours later from his injuries, while Dawn lost her life after giving birth to her and Joe's baby son.
Vinny's court case
Flashbacks revealed Jimmy crashed because he was forced to swerve to avoid hitting Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson), who was driving while video calling Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham). Vinny's recklessness caused the vehicle to move across the road, and by the time he looked back, it was too late.
Vinny now has to face the consequences, and this coming week he will attend court to learn how long he will spend in prison.
Letters delivered
In the days that follow, the quiet village morning is disrupted when multiple residents receive letters. At Home Farm, Joe cannot be bothered to open his and ignores it. Down the road, Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) sees who has written them but swiftly puts hers in the bin.
The identity of the sender remains unclear, but Joe and Nicola's negative reactions suggest a connection to Dawn and Jimmy's deaths. Whether the letters come from Vinny or someone else entirely is yet to be revealed.
