Maya Jama has responded to fans comparing her furry mustard yellow jacket to Big Bird during the second episode of Celebrity Traitors season 2, which aired on BBC One on Thursday night.
The episode resolved the premiere's cliffhanger, revealing that Traitors Maya and Richard E Grant had recruited James Acaster to their ranks. University Challenge presenter Amol Rajan was the first famous contestant to be murdered before he could face the roundtable.
Fans spot the resemblance
As contestants entered the breakfast room at Ardross Castle, Maya, 32, wore a massive mustard yellow furry jacket that drew immediate comparisons to the Sesame Street character. Viewers took to X to share their reactions.
'Ik maya is a traitor but taking it a bit far by skinning big bird and wearing him the next day,' wrote Crayolashots. 'Maya Jama is definitely a Traitor she killed Big Bird for that coat,' lilacfoxes quipped, while slinehan1 added: 'OBSESSED with Maya turning up to breakfast dressed as Big Bird. 😂👑💕.'
Maya's light-hearted reply
The Love Island presenter responded in her usual style, tweeting: 'It was cold as hell in the castle ok 🦢 🤣🤣 #celebritytraitors,' complete with a bird emoji.
Meanwhile, attention also turned to Ross Kemp, whose paranoia about being murdered by the Traitors appeared to make him look increasingly suspicious to the other contestants. Whether the celebrities will turn on him at the roundtable remains to be seen.
Celebrity Traitors airs on Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
