Married At First Sight UK's final vows saw bride Laura hand back her wedding ring to a 'gutted' Arthur, ending their marriage in a dramatic decision. The couple, who had made it to the final week of the 2023 series, met at a location for the vow renewals after spending time apart to decide their future.
Arthur expressed his desire to make the marriage work, saying, 'I do want to make things work. I feel like I'm good enough for Laura, I know I can treat her well.' During his vows, he thanked Laura for having his back and promised kindness, compassion, and respect.
However, Laura admitted to nagging doubts, saying, 'The more I grow as a person the more I grow apart from you. I've always been a fixer, but I've realised this relationship is something that can't be fixed.' She returned her ring, adding, 'You'll be perfect for someone, but it won't be me.'
Afterward, a tearful Laura said, 'Arthur's vows made it quite difficult for me, I took a chance and it didn't pay off.' Arthur, visibly upset, told cameras, 'I didn't really see it coming... I'm really gutted that she didn't feel the same way, we could have had something special.'
Other couples, including Erica and Jordan, decided to remain committed. The final vows episode continues with Georges and Peggy's decision airing on Tuesday, November 14.
