From the outset, the relationship appeared strained. Sarah, a 31-year-old recruitment consultant, was visibly uncomfortable when Dean rapped his vows and later performed a self-written song at their wedding reception, leaving her in tears. She admitted to cameras that she was struggling and felt 'friend vibes' rather than romantic attraction.
During an intimate beach dinner, a producer asked Sarah if there was anything Dean could do to spark sexual chemistry. She replied: 'Get some tattoos and lose some weight, maybe?' The comment sparked a backlash on social media, with one viewer writing: 'What's Sarah's deal with Dean's weight? He's not very big. Get tattoos and lose weight?! Rude.' Dean, a former redcoat performer, later opened up about his insecurities, revealing he felt like 'that fat kid at school who didn't get the girls.' He directly asked Sarah if things would be different if he 'wasn't as big,' to which she replied: 'Probably. I think there maybe would be more of that attraction and sexual chemistry.' She added: 'I want to be open and transparent with you, I don't want to pretend.'
