MAFS Australia's Scott Breaks Silence on Gia Split in Emotional After-Show

Married At First Sight Australia star Scott McCristal has finally spoken out about his failed marriage to Gia Fleur, breaking down in tears during an appearance on the spin-off show MAFS: After The Dinner Party. The couple, who were paired in the 2026 experiment, seemed to be one of the strongest matches, but their relationship unravelled after Gia discovered photos of an ex on Scott's phone.

In an emotional interview, Scott said: 'When I go in I give them my world. I would sit where she was getting her makeup done and sit there until she was finished. I would take her away every weekend. I never let her pay for a cent. I would nurture her. And she would just go off at me for nothing and I would say okay. I just copped so much s***.' He added that he tried hard to make it work because he sees the good in everyone.

Gia has since confirmed the split, explaining that the photos were of a lingerie nature, which she found disrespectful. She told Nine Australia: 'People are saying "What's the problem? They're just photos". But they were actually lingerie photos. I felt it was disrespectful to keep those kinds of photos of your ex when you're in a relationship.' She questioned whether Scott still had feelings for his ex after he refused to delete the images.

The couple's difficulties were compounded during friends and family week, when Scott laughed at insensitive questions from his pals. Gia has since moved on and is reportedly 'so in love' with another Australian TV star, while Scott's tearful confession marks his first public comments since the show aired.
