The highly anticipated return of Love Island: All Stars hit an unexpected snag before it even began, with production forced into a last-minute postponement due to dangerous wildfires in South Africa.
Production Halted by Safety Concerns
The ITV2 reality show was originally scheduled to begin its new series on Monday, but will now launch tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX. The delay was confirmed by an official statement which cited the evacuation of the production team as the primary reason.
"Health and safety is our greatest priority and will always come first," the statement read, explaining that an assessment of the location site concluded filming needed to be pushed back. Sources described the situation as a "nightmare" for the crew, who were left scrambling on a crucial logistical day known as 'get in' day, where everything is set up and islanders are kept apart before entering the villa.
Maya Jama Announces Show's Return
Host Maya Jama has confirmed the show is back on track. In an exclusive announcement, she said, "I've got some very exciting news. I can officially announce exclusively that we are back up and running... Love Island: All Stars is back!"
This series promises a special treat for fans, with a regular episode airing on Saturday night instead of the usual 'Unseen Bits' compilation show. The villa will be filled with a roster of fan favourites from past seasons, including Jack Keating, Millie Court, Jess Harding, and Shaq Muhammad, with more set to enter as bombshells.
Will You Be Tuning In?
After the dramatic start, the question now is whether viewers will flock back to the iconic villa. The show's blend of romance, drama, and returning personalities aims to capture the audience once more. Will the delay dampen enthusiasm or build even more anticipation?
Love Island: All Stars begins tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
