Fletchers' Family Farm: Liz Fletcher's Alpaca Sale Struggle
Liz Fletcher's Alpaca Sale Struggle on ITV Show

Liz Fletcher has confessed on ITV's Fletchers' Family Farm that the family must sell their alpacas to make room for other livestock, but the sale is proving difficult.

Alpacas to Be Sold for More Space

In a repeated episode aired on Monday night (August 17), viewers saw Liz admit she didn't want to part with the alpacas. The couple, who have been documenting their farming life since 2021, need additional space for livestock on their 120-acre farm.

Kelvin Fletcher, the former Emmerdale star, acknowledged it was 'right' to find the alpacas a new home where they could flourish. He told viewers, 'We'll be sad to say goodbye to these wonderful, characterful creatures', before highlighting their focus on becoming native wildstock farmers.

Sale 'Going Slowly' as Trade Dies Off

However, the sale hasn't been straightforward. Liz confessed the sale was 'going slowly' as the alpaca trade is 'dying off'. She explained that due to bad weather, there weren't buyers looking to add alpacas to their farms, leading to a drop in sales.

Looking at one animal, she said: "I want you! I really want you, but Kelvin says we have to sell you." She admitted loving having them but noted they were 'taking up space' that could be used for other animals. She hoped they'd find a new home on an alpaca farm, but until then, they'd continue caring for them.

Farm Expansion Plans Halted

Liz added: "They are so cute and nice to be around, but it's not the plan for the farm, so hopefully we'll get a buyer for them soon." In a voiceover, Kelvin informed viewers that buying new livestock would be halted until space was freed up.

Fletchers' Family Farm is currently in its fourth series, with a fifth series in the pipeline. Fans shared excitement on Instagram, with one commenting: "Love this!! Congrats guys, a loved, beautiful show." Another wrote: "Absolute gem, love the show & can't wait for a new series." The show is available to watch on ITVX.
