Liam Gallagher: Pretty Green 'stolen by vultures'

Liam Gallagher has claimed his clothing brand, Pretty Green, was "stolen from me by vultures" in an online outburst. The Oasis rocker launched the brand in 2009, naming it after The Jam's 1980 song.

Brand's legal history

Pretty Green was legally acquired by JD Sports after entering administration in 2019, with the sale handled by administrators. The brand had faced difficulties following the collapse of House of Fraser the year before. In 2022, it was sold to Frasers Group as part of Mike Ashley's £47.5 million acquisition of fashion brands.

In response to a fan asking why he sold the brand, Gallagher, 53, wrote on X: "I didn't sell it, it was stolen from me by vultures who wouldn't know how to dress a f***ing salad, let alone the youth." He did not specify who the "vultures" were. The post has been viewed 12,000 times.

When asked how fans could get the brand back under his ownership, he quipped: "I don't want it back it's utter s**t." This is not the first time Gallagher has addressed the brand, which last year sold Oasis merchandise following the Live '25 tour. In May last year, he said: "Not been involved for years as some clowns who worked for them got 2 big for there boots and was disrespectful so I had to scarper bfore I got into trouble [sic]."

Oasis tour speculation

Gallagher's latest comments came days after Oasis released a new clothing line to mark the 30th anniversary of their Knebworth shows, including a replica of his Umbro zip-up jacket and Noel's knitted jumper. Following the success of the Live '25 world tour, the group is preparing to announce a new tour, including six dates at Knebworth.

It is expected the band will perform 12 nights at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium and return to Knebworth for six nights. Concert promoter SJM Concerts was recently granted a new events license for Knebworth House.

Gallagher has been teasing fans on social media with messages such as "Manifestation for the nation". When one fan asked "Do you not want us to be excited?", he replied: "Yes, of course, be excited, smash things up. But these things take time to announce if they're getting announced." He later told another fan: "I don't know why everyone is rushing around, it's making me anxious, chill the f**k out."

Sources close to the band have confirmed to the Mirror that the band plans to play the Etihad Stadium, likely starting in June, and will return to Knebworth later in the year, with weekend slots most likely in September. Full confirmation of the tour and ticket prices is expected within weeks. Any official announcement about tickets for the 2027 shows is being held back while the documentary Oasis: Don’t Look Back In Anger is promoted. The London premiere takes place on September 7, so tickets may go on sale after that date. Both Noel and Liam are expected at the London and Venice premieres.

The Mirror approached Pretty Green and JD Group for comment.
