Hollyoaks has finally revealed the identity of Imran Maalik's (Ijaz Rana) secret ex-lover, and it's Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring). The confirmation comes in Wednesday's episode, now available to stream on Channel 4, with the episode airing on E4 at 7pm.
Imran's Secret Past
Imran returned to the village earlier this year with his fiancée Leah Barnes (Charlotte Alex Riley), having fallen in love while in the US. However, ahead of his wedding, it emerged that Imran had a secret ex from before Leah, someone he was truly head over heels for.
The mystery person was later revealed to be in the village after Imran encountered them following his disastrous wedding day, as the two former flames rekindled their passion.
The Reveal
Fans had been speculating for weeks about the identity of the woman. In the latest episode, with Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis) on the run after Leah's accident and appearing in a video posted by a social media influencer, Leah set out to track him down. Imran helped, locating Lucas in subsequent scenes.
A chase ensued, and disaster struck when Lucas was left trapped and unconscious under scaffolding. Imran was set to call for assistance but instead contacted someone else, who rendezvoused with him outside The Love Boat.
Panicked, Imran attempted to reveal what happened to this mystery person, who turned out to be none other than Cindy Cunningham.
What's Next
Cindy recently returned to the village and has not really crossed paths with Imran on-screen until now. The truth behind their love story and how they first met will be revealed in a special edition of the soap set to air next week.
Hollyoaks streams Mondays to Wednesdays from 6am on Channel 4's streaming platform, with episodes airing on TV at 7pm on E4.
