Georgia Jones tearful as she steps away from podcast for family

Georgia Horsley became tearful as she announced she is stepping away from her podcast. The model, 39, who has been married to McFly star Danny Jones, 40, since 2014 and has eight-year-old son Cooper with him, has hosted the Mum's The Word! podcast alongside fellow mum Kelsey Parker since 2023, taking over from This Morning star Ashley James.

Podcast paused as co-host takes maternity leave

On the latest episode of the podcast, Georgia told listeners that while her co-star is also on a break after giving birth last month, she will also be stepping back for a while.

She said: "Just a quick note from me, I will try my hardest not to get emotional. As you know, my beautiful friend and incredible co-host Kelsey is now on maternity leave and she will be concentrating on her family and taking a well-deserved break.

"Which sadly means we’ll be putting a little pause to Mum’s The Word, while we both put more time into our friends and families. I’m sure you’ll all understand."

Thanking listeners for support

The pair are known for offering frank conversations to their listeners, and Georgia thanked fans for all of the support they have continued to show as she tearfully signed off for the foreseeable future.

She added: "We have had the most incredible time bringing awareness and conversation and laughter, and Kelsey shouting down the microphone, and tears, mainly mine, to you all each week.

"We thank you all so much for your continued support. There are so many exciting things to come for the future, for both me and Kelsey.

"We can’t wait for you to see what we’ve got in store. For now, it’s not goodbye, it’s just see you in a little bit and huge huge hugs from me and Kels, thank you so much again. I have been Georgia Jones, and this is Mum’s The Word."

Recent personal milestones

In August, Georgia and her husband celebrated their 12th anniversary together, but it came more than a year after Danny shared a drunken kiss with Love Island star Maura Higgins.

They had first met when they appeared on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! together, but got cosy at the Universal Music afterparty at 180 The Strand on Sunday 1 March 2025.

He issued an apology online, which read: "Hello everyone, sorry it's taken me a while to post this but I've taken some time out to be with those closest to me. I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation.

"I love them so much and we'll continue to deal with this privately. I love you guys, thank you for your patience, understanding, and support. See you all soon, Danny."

A source told The Mirror at the time: "Maura is a tough character but the reaction to events has been utterly relentless, and it's fair to say it's taken its toll.

"She has found all of this very difficult to navigate. She appreciates she's in the public eye and there is extra interest around her, but the abuse is off the charts, and people need to calm down. She is trying to treat things as business as usual, but it's hard."
