Four in a Bed viewers furious as Channel 4 pulls episodes

Four in a Bed viewers have expressed their frustration after a week of episodes, including the payment day finale, was removed from Channel 4's online catch-up service.

The daytime programme, which first premiered in 2010, follows four teams of B&B and hotel owners staying at each other's properties before rating them on facilities, cleanliness and their overall stay. After their experiences, they come together on payment day for what can often be an explosive showdown, providing feedback and how much they would have paid for a stay at their competitors' hotels, before a winner is crowned.

Episodes pulled from catch-up

Last week, starting on Monday 5 October, new episodes of Four in a Bed aired, with Estelle and Steve first welcoming their rivals to their guest house in Torquay. Jan and Deb then invited the B&Bers to their Somerset pub, while Donna and Mike hosted in Pembrokeshire before finally, the guests visited Henry and Lucy's pub in North Wales.

Those episodes, alongside the final one of the week showing payment day, are now unavailable to watch on Channel 4's online catch-up service. The synopsis for Friday's programme reads: “The new run continues. A jaw-dropping payment is the talk of the town on payment day, prompting some rather heated debate.”

Viewers react on social media

Viewers were left baffled at realising the episode was no longer available to watch, with Channel 4 replying to some comments on X in a statement that read: “We just wanted to let you know that the episodes from last weeks #FourInABed are now unavailable, but we are excited that a new week starts this afternoon on #Channel4 at 5pm!” The Mirror has approached Channel 4 for comment.

Viewers were furious, with one person writing: “Removing payment day Four in a Bed when viewers have watched all week is a disgrace. If it's not suitable to air then don't air Mon to Thurs. Why bother watching and supporting the show when you could do the same again?”

Another asked: “Channel 4 can I asked why you have taken this week's Four in a Bed off catch-up and streaming?” Another wrote: “Channel 4 where the hell has the payment day episode of #FourInABed gone????? I recorded it but it's not showing anywhere!!! This is unacceptable!”

More complaints from fans

Someone else wrote: “Why TF is this week's run of #FourInABed gone from #Channel4??! Isn't it lucky I record them. Must be an absolute s***show.” Yet another viewer called the news “annoying” while someone else said it was “frustrating”. Over on Reddit, one also said: “This is absurd. I've see Monday to Thursday on demand - I want to see payment day!”

Another viewer wrote: “So disappointing I was looking forward to the drama!” Yet another fumed: “What's the point of watching now?” They went on: “It's meant to be light-hearted fun. But if you invest the time to watch all week, then they won't show you the finale - what's the point? And what should we do, wait until all episodes are out before watching?”

One person commented: “Yeah I'm pretty annoyed that it was pulled. I waited all week to see payment day and then it just didn't air,” as another said: “I've just sat down the watch it and that whole weeks worth is gone! So annoyed .”

Four in a Bed airs weekdays from 5pm on Channel 4.
