Fans slam Celebrity Traitors' 'dumb combination' choice

Viewers of Celebrity Traitors have criticised the newly selected Traitors, Maya Jama and Richard E Grant, for their choice of potential recruits, branding it a 'dumb combination' that could backfire.

The second series of the celebrity spin-off began on October 1, with 21 celebrities entering the Scottish Highlands castle to play the deception game for charity. Unlike previous seasons, Claudia only selected two Traitors at the Round Table, giving them the chance to recruit a third.

Recruits under fire

Maya and Richard chose journalist Amol Rajan and comedian James Acaster as their potential recruits. However, fans have blasted this decision on social media, noting that both had been vocal about suspecting Richard of being a Traitor.

One viewer wrote on Reddit: "Steven has just voiced my thoughts precisely on Uncloaked. Their choices were a dumb combination." Another added: "Yeah they should have picked one to recruit and one to murder; not both to potentially recruit."

Former Traitor weighs in

Former Traitor Stephen Libby also expressed disapproval on spin-off show Uncloaked, saying: "I wouldn't have chosen either of them first of all for this. I think they've made a big mistake here. I think both of them, whoever is murdered, it points straight to Richard."

He suggested Ross as a better choice, adding: "They should have brought someone like Ross in because he was accusing everyone under the sun. If someone sniffed, he was like 'did you just murder me by sniffing in my direction?' And I think if you murdered Ross, then I think it's the best way to get the heat off Richard."

Cliffhanger outcome

While Stephen believes James will be selected as the Traitor, fellow Traitor Rachel Duffy disagrees and backs Amol. The outcome of the cliffhanger will be revealed in tonight's episode. Celebrity Traitors airs every Thursday and Friday at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
