Fans of The Great Celebrity Pottery Throw Down were left devastated for Lucy Beaumont on Sunday night's episode, after she accidentally dropped and broke her creation.
The Channel 4 spin-off, hosted by Liza Tarbuck and judged by Keith Brymer Jones and Rich Miller, sees celebrities with little pottery experience take on the wheel.
Raku Week Challenge
In Sunday's episode, contestants were tasked with making animal sculptures and milk jugs as part of Raku week. Raku is a Japanese firing technique where pottery is removed from the kiln while glowing red hot and immediately placed in a cooling chamber.
The stars had to choose the perfect moment to remove their creations from the kiln, risking cracking or breaking if the temperature was not right.
Viewers React to Lucy's Mishap
During the challenge, viewers were gutted when Lucy accidentally broke her creation after dropping it. Taking to X, one person said: "Poor Lucy #PotteryThrowdown" with a heartbreak emoji. Another wrote: "#potterythrowdown Is Lucy laughing or crying?" A third added: "Poor Lucy, she's so funny but what the heck was she thinking," while another viewer commented: "Lucy beheading her dragon is killing me #potterythrowdown."
One fan wrote: "Got to feel for Lucy. To have sculpted, decorated & fired her creation, to then drop it must be devastating! #PotteryThrowdown."
Leaderboard and Next Episode
Lucy joins Fatiha El-Ghorri, Richard Herring, Paul Merson, Denise Van Outen and Layton Williams on the show. At the end of the episode, former Strictly Come Dancing star Layton was crowned potter of the week after impressing with his black swan sculpture and milk jug.
The leaderboard revealed Richard has four points, Layton has three, Fatiha has two, Denise has one, Paul has one, and Lucy has zero points. The next episode will be the semi-final, where two potters will say goodbye to the pottery wheel and their fellow contestants. The Great Celebrity Pottery Throw Down continues on Channel 4.
