Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) makes preparations in Emmerdale tonight as his time in the village begins to run out. The character recently confessed to Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) and Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) that he was driving the car Jimmy King (Nick Miles) swerved prior to the crash. Jimmy died shortly after he smashed his car into a wedding marquee, while Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) lost her life in hospital.
Vinny's plan for the future
Vinny knows that he needs to face consequences for his actions. He's already been charged, which means it won't be long until he goes to court.
In today's episode of the ITV soap, Vinny arrives in the café to speak with Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) about his future. He explains that he's pleaded guilty, and has created a plan for when he's eventually released. Vinny has no intention of coming back to the village once he's done his time out of respect for Jimmy and Dawn's children.
He also asks Aaron to take Chip the dog as he doesn't want her to be rehomed. It breaks Aaron's heart to hear all of this from Vinny, but he agrees to take Chip and promises to help him with money when he gets out.
Nicola receives Jimmy's belongings
Later, Vinny visits Nicola and gives her a box of Jimmy's things. He isn't able to speak with her for very long, as his emotions over taking Jimmy from Nicola and their children leave him overwhelmed.
On Monday, October 5, DS Thea Ramsden (Chelsea Edge) is busy trying to talk Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) out of her blackmail plan, but it seems Sarah isn't going to change her mind. Later, Thea catches up with Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy) for an update on how things went with Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) at the prison. It's all a disaster – and Thea needs to create a new plan.
Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) tells Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) about Gabby Thomas' (Rosie Bentham) concerning social media posts. Laurel heads to speak with Gabby about what's going on, but she fails to locate her. Unbeknownst to Laurel, Gabby is having a panic attack on the floor behind the counter at The Hide.
Elsewhere, Nicola prepares for Jimmy's funeral but is still broken by his betrayal. Meanwhile, Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) learns that Nicola has found backed-up voicemails on Jimmy's laptop, and is anxious about what that means for her.
