Jimmy King's secret voice messages to Sadie King were revealed in Friday's episode of Emmerdale, leaving his widow Nicola King distraught. The messages, hidden on his laptop, were discovered by Nicola after her son Carl told her they were there. As she listened, she heard her late husband's voice speaking to Sadie.
Sadie had returned to the village after Jimmy's death in a car crash, claiming to Nicola that she had been in a three-year relationship with Jimmy behind her back. Viewers, however, had already seen that Sadie faked images of herself with Jimmy and was attempting to access his money. The voice messages now appeared to confirm Jimmy had been in contact with Sadie shortly before his death.
What Jimmy's voice messages revealed
In the audio, Jimmy asked Sadie if she was comfortable and in a hotel, which made Nicola fear they were meeting up just as Sadie had claimed. He then told her he had "the money," seemingly confirming he was giving her money. Nicola, upset, stopped listening and ran off, but as the earphones dropped, the audio continued to play.
Jimmy then vowed this would be the one and only time he gave her any money. He said he loved his wife to pieces and that she would rightly "kill him" if she found out what he was doing with Sadie. His words appeared to rule out any other meetings and suggested he was doing Sadie a favour, rather than planning to run off with her or leave his family.
Possible implications for Sadie
The true reasons for Jimmy seeing Sadie and giving her money have not been explained. However, the voice note could dispute Sadie's claims about the nature of their relationship and prove she is hiding something. It remains unclear if Nicola or someone else will hear the rest of the message and confront Sadie, or if there are more messages to uncover, as Carl had found multiple messages on the laptop.
