Emmerdale fans predict Rose return for Dawn's funeral

Emmerdale viewers are convinced a familiar face could return to the village following Dawn Taylor's tragic death. Fans have predicted that Dawn's mother, Rose, played by Christine Tremarco, may make a comeback for the funeral.

Dawn's tragic final storyline

Dawn, portrayed by Olivia Bromley, first appeared on the soap in 2018 and quickly became central to several major storylines. Her time in the Dales included battling drug addiction and turning to sex work.

Last week, a pregnant Dawn was involved in a horrific car crash on her wedding day to fiancé Joe Tate, played by Ned Porteous. Jimmy King, played by Nick Miles, ploughed his vehicle into the marquee, leaving all three fighting for survival. Jimmy lost his life, while Joe and Dawn escaped.

After being rushed to hospital, Dawn went into premature labour and delivered a baby boy months ahead of schedule. However, in Sunday's episode, she passed away following a massive haemorrhage that led to cardiac arrest.

Fans call for Rose's return

On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, supporters have been predicting a comeback for Rose, reports the Daily Star. Rose arrived in the Dales in April 2024, stirring up considerable drama. She attempted to sabotage Kim Tate's marriage, vanished, and was feared dead before departing the village in August 2024 to start a new life overseas.

One fan mused: "Maybe Dawn's mum will be back for her funeral?" Another added: "I'd like that, I liked Rose." A third chimed in: "Yeah, I thought that. Get her back!"

Actress's career highlights

Before her Emmerdale role, Christine Tremarco featured in programmes including Waterloo Road, Casualty and Clink. She also portrayed Manda Miller in the Netflix hit Adolescence and secured an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series.

Discussing her departure with The Mirror, Olivia admitted: "It was the toughest storyline I've done during my time in the soap. I was surprised by how emotional I found it and it was way more emotional than I was expecting."

She added: "I did cry. It is very strange to kill off your character as an actor and in front of your colleagues. But that said, what a gift to be given. Often people leave and just slip off."

Emmerdale airs Monday to Friday at 8:00pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
