Emmerdale fans are convinced that a beloved character could be making a return as Sadie King plots to destroy Caleb and Ruby Miligan's marriage.
Sadie (Patsy Kensit) made a dramatic comeback to the village last month upon learning of ex Jimmy King's (Nick Miles) death. Viewers will remember he ploughed his vehicle into a marquee during Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) and Dawn Taylor's (Olivia Bromley) wedding ceremony.
Yet to the astonishment of all - particularly Jimmy's wife Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) - Sadie insisted that Jimmy had been leading a double life, claiming they had been romantically entangled for three years. Subsequently, it emerged that Sadie had been fabricating the story in a bid to get her hands on money Jimmy had supposedly left behind. The truth regarding Sadie's deception and scheming has since been exposed.
Sadie's focus shifts to Caleb and Ruby
Nevertheless, Sadie has recently shifted her focus towards Caleb (William Ash) and Ruby (Beth Cordingly) Miligan, spurred on by Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) who seeks vengeance against his uncle Caleb, reports the Daily Star. In a calculated move to seduce Caleb, Sadie has cultivated a friendship with Ruby, who remains oblivious to Sadie's hidden agenda of sabotaging their marriage.
During Thursday's episode (October 15), Sadie's former flame Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) grew suspicious when Sadie made clear her intention to remain in the village. He subsequently cautioned Caleb that Sadie would ruin his life if he kept her close, though Caleb maintained he was too clever to fall for her schemes.
Fans tip Nicky for a comeback
With further drama on the horizon, fans believe the soap could resurrect a former character to bring Sadie down. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, viewers have tipped Caleb and Ruby's son Nicky (Lewis Cope) as the one to watch.
"They need to get Nicky back soon," said one viewer, while another added: "Maybe he'll come back to stop Sadie." A third fan echoed the sentiment, commenting: "Yeah I miss him, it's a shame he's not been back since." A fourth chipped in: "Got a feeling he'll be back soon."
Long-standing viewers will recall that Nicky first arrived in the village in 2022, going on to feature in several major plotlines — from coming out as gay to being involved in a terrifying car crash. In 2024, Nicky departed the village alongside boyfriend Suni Sharma. Meanwhile, actor Lewis went on to compete on Strictly Come Dancing in 2025, reaching the final alongside professional partner Katya Jones.
Emmerdale airs Monday to Friday at 8:00pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
