Emma Willis 'loving' Strictly role, husband Matt reveals

Matt Willis has revealed what his wife, Emma Willis, really thinks about Strictly Come Dancing, confirming she is "loving" her new presenting role.

Last month, Strictly kicked off another season as Emma Willis, comedian Josh Widdicombe, and former Strictly pro dancer Johannes Radebe made their debut as the new hosts of the BBC show, replacing veteran presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.

At the first live show on Saturday, September 26, the main hosting trio received mixed feedback, with viewers questioning the need for three presenters. However, Emma appears unfazed by the criticism following the shake-up to Strictly.

Matt Willis praises Emma on BBC Breakfast

Appearing on Wednesday's (October 14) live installment of BBC Breakfast, Busted star Matt opened up to hosts Jon Kay and Sally Nugent about his wife Emma's feelings towards Strictly, which is set to air its fourth live show on Saturday.

Jon said: "It's been a new start for Strictly, there has been lots of scrutiny on whether it's working or how it's working. But from the inside, from home, Emma's happy?"

Matt replied: "She's stoked to bits, I think she is doing a fantastic job. She loves the show. She's such a fan, so for her to be presenting Strictly is like a dream job, and I think you can tell how much she loves it. She's having a whale of a time, she's really enjoying herself."

Matt's verdict on the new season

Matt said he is also "loving" the new season of Strictly, and added: "I love it, it's my first time religiously watching the show, and I love it. I'm well in."

The music star also confirmed he had visited the Strictly ballroom to watch one of the shows, and said it was "very impressive in real life", adding: "When you watch them do it, it's quite amazing what they're doing."

Emma avoids criticism during presenter reboot

Emma, who is best known for hosting The Voice and Big Brother, has managed to evade most of the criticism during Strictly's presenter reboot.

Some fans of the BBC show have compared Emma with former longtime host Tess, as she stands on the dancefloor to interview contestants after each performance alongside Josh. While Johannes serves as the new Claudia Winkleman upstairs.

Matt and Emma Willis have been married since July 5, 2008, when they tied the knot in Northamptonshire, and they share three children together: Isabelle, Ace, and Trixie Grace. BBC Breakfast airs at 6am on BBC One and iPlayer.
