In tonight's EastEnders, Craig Ingram caught Amy Mitchell in a lie after he found Denzel's ID in his flat. The discovery could lead to freedom for the teen or ramp up the former copper's manipulation of her.
Craig's suspicions grow
Tonight's episode ended on a dark note for Amy, who is being groomed by Craig. After she had some friends over at Craig's flat, he found her ex Denzel's ID. When he questioned Amy about it, she lied to him, and his reaction left many wondering what would happen next.
Over the past few weeks, Craig (Matthew James-Bailey) has been slowly isolating teenager Amy (Ellie Dadd) and started a relationship with her. As her 'boyfriend', he has been pressuring her to drop her studies, ditch her friends and be more intimate with him than she was ready to be.
A teen hangout goes wrong
Amy managed to get some time to be a teen again in tonight's episode, inviting pal Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) over to Craig's flat whilst he was out. Their hangout was soon crashed by Amy's brother Ricky (Frankie Day), Nugget Gulati (Juhaim Radul Choudhary) and Amy's ex Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega).
Denzel accidentally left his ID behind, which was found by Craig. When the former policeman asked Amy who was at the flat, she said it was just Lily. A wave of fury was visible on Craig's face.
Blackmail and a leaked photo
In leaked spoilers for the show, Craig confronts Amy about the ID and tells her to prove her loyalty by showing him her phone. There, he discovers a shirtless photo Denzel recently sent. Although Craig accepts Amy's explanation, his resentment towards Denzel deepens.
Meanwhile, Denzel is faced with blackmail. Either he pays up or his shirtless pics will be leaked. Growing desperate, Nugget attempts to help by stealing money from the Minute Mart, but he and Denzel are stopped by Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter).
Later, Denzel's dad and stepmum Howie (Delroy Atkinson) and Kim (Tameka Empson) surprise Denzel with a signet ring ahead of his birthday celebrations, which he then pawns to raise the money needed.
A dark turn for Amy
As Denzel's family and friends gather to celebrate his recent birthday, Craig secretly watches from afar. When Amy spots and confronts him, Craig sends Denzel's photos to Kim and Howie out of jealousy, leaving Denzel and his loved ones horrified.
A further isolated Amy turns to Craig, who sees an opportunity when she mentions her upcoming inheritance and agrees to leave Walford with him. Amid this, Amy still seems to be unaware that Craig was let go from the police force for gross misconduct, including using his position of power to exert control.
