Sam Braun, who plays popular student Josh Regis in Netflix's new young adult drama Crew Girl, is dating fellow actress Shanti Harris. The couple frequently posts loved-up pictures on Instagram, documenting their romantic trips and work collaborations.
Who is Shanti Harris?
Shanti has theatre experience and credits in short films including Untethered, The First Dance, and Laundry. Sam and Shanti are also performing together in a new play called The Truth and Darers, which Shanti wrote. It is currently showing at the Vancouver Fringe and follows six teenagers who play a high-stakes game of Truth or Dare.
What is Crew Girl about?
The series follows Teagan (played by Miku Martineau), a skilled teenage rower forced to move to a small town after a family scandal. She hopes for a fresh start at Easton Prep but discovers she will be the only female on the school's rowing team. A synopsis reveals: "Thrust into a world of old money and brutal competition, Teagan must find a way to lead a team that doesn't want her and somehow bring them together."
Teagan also finds herself in a love triangle with Josh and Cam (Kyle Clark). The first season landed on Netflix on September 10, and fans are already hoping for a second series.
What could happen in season 2?
There is no news yet on the show's future, but the leading stars have ideas. Sam told Tudum: "If we go to season 2, I think we should go on summer break or something, get lost in the woods. It'd be really fun to do a summer bash and be on the lake boat and see what their life is [like] outside of rowing too." Kyle added: "We really want to step it up if we have more time." Miku stated: "Who knows what can happen in season 2? A love square — is that even possible?" Crew Girl is streaming now on Netflix.
