Amanda Holden reveals why she rarely posts husband on social media

Amanda Holden has revealed why she rarely shares photos of her husband Chris Hughes on social media. The Britain's Got Talent star first met Chris at a party in Los Angeles back in 2003. Sparks flew a year later, and the couple tied the knot in 2008.

The pair are now proud parents to daughters Lexi and Hollie. During her Heart Breakfast show, Amanda revealed that she'd floated the idea of renewing their vows to Chris, but he wasn't exactly sold by the idea.

'He gets so embarrassed'

Amanda explained: "We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary in 2018 and I wore a long, white slip-dress and I suggested to Chris we do that but he said, 'I hated doing that the first time'."

When Jamie quipped that Amanda's other half was quite the "old romantic", she replied: "He gets so embarrassed being the centre of attention. Over the summer holidays you might see two pictures of my husband."

She continued: "He doesn't go to the red carpets, he doesn't do anything with me, he hates attention. I get asked by newspapers at least twice a year if I'm still married, so no to the renewals."

'Forced to go on my Instagram'

Amanda has previously admitted she forces Chris to pose for Instagram snaps. However, she does heed her husband's advice when it comes to business matters. In a chat with The Times, she revealed: "It does still feel fresh. We're very different people. He can't stand the limelight, hates red carpets, hates turning up anywhere with me, so he doesn't.

"Twice a year he gets forced to go on my Instagram just to prove he exists. I will only listen to him on the business side of life. In other ways I'm very spontaneous and don't listen to him at all."

'Still feels new'

Amanda has previously spoken about how their relationship "still feels new" to her even after all these years. She told Hello!: "We have ups and downs like everyone else.

"But when I was looking at the pain and suffering that some of the people we were working with were going through, I felt so grateful that I had somebody in my life with no complications. My husband and I always have this joke where we go: 'God, our relationship still feels so fresh.'"

"Twenty-two years does feel like a long time, but it still feels new to me. I think that's because it's ever-evolving."

Amanda still "fancies" Chris even after all these years together. Speaking to OK!, she quipped: "The main secret behind a successful marriage is to have a bloody good sense of humour!

"Plus, I really fancy Chris. We'll be eating dinner in a restaurant, he'll go to the loo, then I'll look up and catch a glimpse of a man and think he's fit! Then I'll realise, "Gosh, that's my husband!" I still fancy him. Also, Chris challenges me and I challenge him – that's another secret to a good marriage."
