Corrie villain Megan Walsh return 'sealed' in new twist

Coronation Street is reportedly welcoming back a huge villain to the cobbles. Soap watchers will recall that evil athletics coach, Megan Walsh, was found guilty earlier this year after grooming teenager and student Will Driscoll.

As well as grooming Will, Megan also struck up a fake romance with an oblivious Daniel Osborne to hide their inappropriate relationship and also threatened fellow teenager Sam Blakeman after he discovered the truth.

Soap watchers last saw Megan back in July, where she was found guilty and sentenced to five years in jail, but the evil character could be returning to the cobbles...

Actress back on set filming

According to reports, Megan actress, Beth Nixon, is back on the ITV set filming and her scenes are reportedly set to air later this year.

A source told The Sun: "Beth Nixon, who played paedo teacher Megan Walsh, is already back on the ITV set filming this week."

"Megan might have been sent to jail back in June but her former pupil Will Driscoll will be shocked when she returns."

"Beth has been filming this week and will be on screen later this year."

The publication claims that Beth has been filming scenes with Lucas Hodgson-Wale, who plays Will, Catherine Tyldesley, who portrays Will's stepmother Eva Price and Pauline McLynn, who plays Will's protective grandmother Maggie Driscoll.

ITV has been approached for comment.

Actress's farewell and background

It comes as Megan star, Beth, bid farewell to the cobbles back in July, sharing a montage of snaps of her time on the cobbles. The actress penned: "Megan, you're a cow and I'll miss you like a hole in the head."

"Thank you thank you thank you to every single person at @coronationstreet you've changed my life! Peace out."

Beth, who is 25 years old, hails from York and studied drama at the Arden School of Theatre in Manchester. Juggling her working life alongside her ambitions of becoming a professional actress, Beth was employed as a skin clinic manager when she put herself forward for the Corrie audition.

Upon learning she had secured the role of the villainous Megan, Beth - who had also worked as a waitress "for years" - was overwhelmed with emotion.

"I was at work when my agent called me. I was upstairs as my colleague watched the desk and, when he told me I'd got it, everybody in the clinic could hear me screaming my head off and then I cried, because it's been four years since I graduated and this is my first TV role," she told York College.

Beth added: "It's been a hard time and I was really close to quitting, having a normal job and pursuing a different career, so this just came at exactly the right time and when I needed it."

Coronation Street continues on weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV and ITV X.
