Corrie spoilers: Sarah's verdict, Ross games, Debbie's past

Coronation Street fans will soon discover whether Sarah Platt will spend the rest of her life behind bars as her court case concludes, while in Weatherfield, Debbie Webster's past comes back to haunt her.

In the courtroom, Sarah listens to the barristers' closing speeches with her nerves jangling. In the court corridor, the usher announces that the jury has reached a verdict.

Council land dispute

Elsewhere on the cobbles, Idris Nazir tells Alya that there's a piece of council land he's interested in buying and he'd like her to act as his solicitor. Meanwhile, Daniel Osbourne tells Ken Barlow that, according to Mrs Crawshaw, the council plans to sell the spare land to a fat cat developer, but Daniel resolves to put a stop to it.

Later, Daniel tells Adam Barlow how he plans to stop the council from selling the land and make sure it's utilised for the kids. Over a drink, a buoyed-up Daniel tells Adam and Alya that he's rallied the parents and started a petition. Later, Alya confesses to Adam that the developer hoping to buy the land is Idris and she's agreed to represent him.

Debbie's dementia worries

When Debbie Webster suggests a romantic night in, Ronnie Bailey turns her down and explains that his brother, Ed, is taking him out for a belated birthday meal. Later, Ronnie admits to Ed that although he still fancies Debbie, he's worried about her dementia and the effect it could have on their sex life. Ed urges Ronnie to discuss it with Debbie.

It doesn't appear so, as later, Debbie suggests to Ronnie that they head back to bed as she's feeling frisky, but she unwittingly calls him Darren. Ronnie lets it go but feigns a headache. When Debbie confides in Abi Webster and Glenda Shuttleworth, Abi is struggling to bite her tongue.

At the hotel, Debbie gives Denise, a bride-to-be, a guided tour and confirms that her wedding is booked for July. When Denise reveals that she requested 26th June, Debbie's horrified to realise she's messed up the dates. When Carl Webster suggests that Ryan should handle the bookings from now on, Debbie agrees.

In the hotel bar, as Carl and Ronnie are talking, Debbie approaches and gives Ronnie short shrift, unaware that Paula, the ex-con, is watching her. Denise tells Ryan Connor she doesn't want Debbie anywhere near her wedding day as she's a liability. Meanwhile, Paula confronts and threatens Debbie. As Ryan shows Denise around, they come across Debbie and Paula arguing, resulting in Denise demanding her deposit back before storming out.

When Denise's fiancé, Stan, arrives, Debbie explains that he's missed her and offers him a glass of wine. Debbie tells him about how her husband doesn't fancy her anymore. When Ronnie enters and finds Debbie flirting with Stan, how will he react?

Ross's games

Ross Wilkes calls at the garage and shows Tyrone Dobbs the boxing gloves he's bought for his son, Dorin, pointing out that it'll give him a chance to bond with his grandson. Later, Ross forces Dorin, then Tyrone, to have a go at boxing, but neither of them enjoys it.

When Tyrone's wife, Fiz, explains to Ross that the girls had a go at boxing instead, and Ruby's keen to take it up properly, Ross is disapproving. Ruby asks if she can take up boxing, but Tyrone explains that it's not for girls and he wouldn't want her to get hurt. When Hope points out that he's being sexist, Tyrone has a change of heart and agrees she can go.

Later, when Tyrone receives a text from Fiz asking him to pick up some popcorn for their film night, Ross tells him to ignore it, pockets the phone and forces Tyrone to have yet another pint. Tyrone returns home clearly drunk, leaving Fiz annoyed and she packs him off to bed. When Tyrone reveals that Ross confiscated his phone, Fiz is fuming. Fiz later confronts Ross and accuses him of sabotaging the family film night on purpose.
