Coronation Street has shared a first look at the horror that Jodie Ramsey is about to unleash on the cobbles as she goes 'single white female' in a dramatic showdown with her sister, Shona Platt.
As viewers of the ITV soap, which is filmed in Salford, have seen, the complicated character has stepped up her efforts to take over her older sibling's life, after the long-lost sisters were reunited back in January, following the horror crash between those from Weatherfield and the Emmerdale village.
Jodie's manipulation intensifies
It's recently been made clear that Jodie is trying to make Shona and her loved ones think she's suffering from post-natal depression as she struggles with baby Harper. Viewers have also seen her switch her father Doug's psychosis medication when she realised he was onto her, resulting in him being taken back to a secure mental health unit.
It was previously confirmed that in upcoming scenes, Jodie will make her next attempt to wipe her sister from the picture. Convinced she's owed her own shot at happiness, she shamelessly declares to Shona's husband, David, that he "deserves someone that will treat you right."
A gunshot rings out
New pictures have now revealed the dramatic moment when Jodie proves she will stop at nothing to steal her sister's life, as after months of mind games and manipulation, viewers will see a desperate Jodie pointing a gun at Shona when Shona confronts her about her obsession with her husband and family.
In Thursday night's (October 8) episode of Corrie, Jodie will go all out to try and seduce David, and it seems she has finally turned his head when shocked Shona arrives. When she ends up pointing a gun, Shona and David are convinced it is a replica and the pair challenge her. But the situation spirals into chaos, and a gunshot rings out. As the dust settles, one person lies stricken, and the family is left reeling in horror.
Who has been shot?
Olivia Frances Brown, who plays Jodie, previously said: "Jodie has convinced herself that David symbolises her potential for future happiness. She's lost the plot a little bit and truly believes David is the answer to all her wants and needs. When pushed, you just don't know what Jodie's capable of. She has a lot of dark secrets and has a genuinely sinister side to her."
