Corrie fans predict Sarah Platt's courtroom move

Coronation Street fans believe they have worked out what Sarah Platt will do as she stands trial for the murder of Theo Silverton in the ITV soap this week.

It has been months since Sarah was seen confessing to killing the builder in the show, filmed in Salford. The confession came weeks after Theo's body was found by a horrified Betsy Swain on the night of her mum Lisa's wedding to Carla Connor, which took place on April 23.

Flashback reveals Sarah's role

Weeks after a 'whodunnit' got underway, flashback scenes aired in June revealed that it was Sarah who appeared to deal the blow that sent a drunk Theo tumbling off the scaffolding outside his flat and plummeting to the ground - before she called on her former flame, Gary Windass, for help.

As Todd struggled in the aftermath of his abusive husband's murder, Sarah ended up confessing the truth to her best friend, while her partner, DC Kit Green, found out when she admitted to killing Theo as he was trying to pop the question.

Arrest and charge

Despite Kit's attempts to help cover up her crime, Sarah was arrested on suspicion of killing Theo. She was later charged as the evidence stacked against her, and Sarah ended up admitting to the murder, telling DS Lisa Connor-Swain it was in self-defence.

This week, after months behind bars on remand, Sarah will get the chance to fight for her freedom as she tries to convince the jury that she didn't kill Theo in cold blood. New spoilers for next week's Corrie have confirmed that Sarah will finally learn her fate.

Bethany's secret revealed

During Tuesday's (October 13) episode of Corrie, Bethany Platt was seen encouraging Kit to tell her mum the truth about his recent stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis before she appeared in court, but he refused. Later, in the café, her new love interest, Ryan Connor, praised her for always putting her family first, leaving Bethany having to mask her guilt over her one-night stand with Kit.

Bethany then headed to see Sarah with Todd Grimshaw, where the latter accidentally let slip about Kit's cancer, as she spoke of her upset at her ex not being willing to help her get off a possible murder charge. During the visit, Bethany appeared to suffer a funny turn, with the pressure of her mum's imprisonment and her mum's request that she look after her little brother, Harry, seemingly getting too much.

However, later that evening, having gotten into an argument with Kit, which scuppered her planned date with Ryan, Bethany was seen leaving the bathroom holding a pregnancy test. Sitting on the sofa, she spoke to Ryan on the phone as she looked at the result, quietly horrified to discover that she was pregnant.

Fans predict Gary's fate

While the surprise of Bethany's pregnancy was the talk of the episode, some Corrie fans were also seen discussing how Sarah may try to get off of her murder charge, after Bethany said her only option was to pin the crime on Gary, and admit he was the one who disposed of the murder weapon.

@NicolaHighHeels said: "Sarah is gonna chuck Gazza under the bus, isn't she! #Corrie." @MahonyHila81440 replied: "Most definitely." @LadyReignFC complained: "So Sarah has to sacrifice Gary who was the only one to help her so Kit, who hasn't helped her case at any point, can have someone look after him? Girl go to hell. He has his whole family. He's living in Sarah's house while not taking care of her child. #corrie."

@NoniFlax101 shared: "Not happy with Bethany suggesting Sarah throw Gary under the bus. #Corrie." @1stLadyHooligan added: "Bethany & Sarah are nuts if they think Sarah can get off with killing Theo when she confessed to killing him ffs! Bethany thinking that Sarah dropping Gary in it for getting rid of the murder weapon will help Sarah & maybe it will but it shouldn't get her off! #corrie."
