BBC viewers were left confused during Friday night's episode of Celebrity Traitors after host Claudia Winkleman seemingly gave away the game to four Faithfuls.
TV host Maya Jama, comedian James Acaster and mathematician Hannah Fry were told by Claudia to choose four contestants to play a deadly game of hide-and-seek, with one of them killed face-to-face.
Task details revealed
Comedians and pals Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett were chosen alongside singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock and actor Ross Kemp, where they were told to hide in a crypt castle in the forest.
Claudia told the players that they had a chance of survival by deciding among them who would have a special key which would prevent the traitors from being able to kill them face to face. Three of the contestants agreed to give the key to Leigh-Anne.
Viewer reactions
Viewers at home were left taken aback by the latest show task as some suggested Claudia had indirectly exposed to the four contestants that none of them are traitors.
An exasperated viewer typed: "Claudia has just let 4 faithfuls know that they’re not traitors #Celebritytraitors."
An X user agreed: "I thought that. Surely she should have told them to consider one may be a traitor amongst them."
Other viewers disagree
But other viewers shut down claims that Claudia had given the game away after it had previously been explained a traitor could be among the four chosen contestants.
A Celeb Traitors fan said: "One of the Traitors can put themselves up for murder though..."
Another commented: "Traitors had choice to put themselves in the group. They declined. See Turret chat for details. The Faithfuls know that's always an option."
While a third added: "No, she said they were there at the request of the traitors. A traitor could be there at their own request."
Meanwhile, Coronation Street actress Julie Hesmondhalgh was banished from The Celebrity Traitors. The 56-year-old actress received the majority of votes during Friday night’s episode of the BBC reality game show and was forced to leave the Scottish castle.
Earlier in the episode, The Last Of Us star Bella Ramsey became the second faithful to be murdered on the series. The Celebrity Traitors returns on Thursday at 8pm on BBC One.
