Celebrity Traitors viewers were united in their verdict within just minutes of the first episode airing. The BBC programme made its highly anticipated return on Thursday night (October 1), launching its second series. Much like the original civilian version, the show is hosted by Claudia Winkleman.
Fresh twists and a star-studded lineup
While the core rules remain unchanged, fans can look forward to a host of fresh twists throughout the series. A total of 21 well-known faces are competing for the chance to win a cash prize for charity.
Familiar names including Ross Kemp, Maya Jama, Bella Ramsey, Julie Hesmondhalgh, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and James Blunt have all made their way up to Scotland, in what promises to be a drama-filled competition.
Viewers heap praise on social media
As audiences settled in to watch the opening episode, it became apparent they were absolutely delighted, with viewers rushing to X to heap praise on the calibre of the cast, reports Wales Online.
"This cast is 10/10 omg I'm praying they give us good TV," wrote one viewer. Another added: "The cast of this year's #CelebrityTraitors is top tier."
A third commented: "This is the most celebrity celebrity cast ever." Sharing the same sentiment, a fourth remarked: "This cast is excellent." While another enthusiastic viewer declared: "This cast is STACKED and I'm here for it."
Cast breakdown and notable names
The cast is predominantly made up of actors, with 10 in the castle alongside five comedians, three television presenters, two pop stars and a social media influencer. Bella Ramsey, 22, rose to prominence through Game of Thrones and became hugely popular playing Ellie in The Last of Us.
American Jerry Hall, 69, whose former husbands include Rolling Stone Mick Jagger and media tycoon Rupert Murdoch, is most recognised for her West End performances and her on-screen appearance in Batman.
Julie Hesmondhalgh portrayed Coronation Street's Hayley Cropper until 2014 and has subsequently appeared in numerous television programmes, including ITV's Mr Bates Vs the Post Office.
Meanwhile, Richard E Grant has recently completed his role as Mr Bennet opposite Ruth Jones in BBC1's The Other Bennet Sister and is most famous for his performance in 80s cult classic Withnail and I.
