Dozens of areas across England are set to enjoy 22C highs this weekend as unseasonably warm weather continues, according to Met Office temperature maps.
Despite now being more than a month into autumn with Halloween just weeks away, the UK continues to bask in warm temperatures, following the scorching, record-breaking summer. This weekend will bring up to 22C across many areas in the south and east of England.
This includes London, but also places like Cambridge, Norwich, Luton, Reading and Northampton. Surrounding areas, while they might not reach the top 22C mark, will still largely enjoy 20 or 21C.
Peak temperatures on Sunday afternoon
Peak temperatures will arrive on Sunday afternoon when, by 4pm, 45 areas are forecast to experience 22C according to Met Office temperature maps.
Giving an outlook for Saturday to Monday, the forecaster said: "Showery rain in the south dying away on Saturday with sunny spells developing for most. Thereafter, windy with some rain in the north, largely fine and rather warm further south."
Wet weather in Scotland and Northern Ireland
Friday will bring some wet and windy weather across Scotland and Northern Ireland, with some "particularly heavy rain" developing across southwest Scotland and Cumbria later. Temperatures in these areas will peak at 18 over the weekend, while Wales will get up to 19C.
