Celebrity Traitors: Ross Kemp and Jerry Hall Exit

Ross Kemp and Jerry Hall have become the latest celebrities to leave the Scottish castle in the current series of Celebrity Traitors. Kemp was murdered in plain sight after yawning first during a game called 'Bored To Death', while Hall was banished after receiving nine votes.

Kemp on the Castle's Unique Challenge

Kemp, known for his role in EastEnders, said the castle experience was tougher than any hostile environment he has visited. He explained: "There is nothing else I've ever experienced that is anything like it. The fear of failure on this is not comparable to anything. Whether you're an actor, or in a hostile environment where you could get killed, you don't let people down."

He added: "Even though you would say it'd be odd to say a hostile environment is a comfort zone, it's something that I know, I'm with my team, I can trauma risk, manage myself with my friends who I trust. I also have an element of control whether I'm acting or whether I’m making a documentary – with this I’ve had to surrender control, which I found quite difficult and also quite daunting, being in a room with that kind of talent and intelligence. So all round, not an experience that I've ever had before."

Paranoia and a Warning to Traitors

Kemp admitted he became increasingly paranoid in the castle, fearing people touching him. He said: "The whole environment just makes you paranoid. I was sensitive to people coming close to me. Could have been a 'cheers', could have been anything."

He also suggested comedian Joanne McNally was setting him up to look suspicious, laughing: "Maybe she's a Traitor, that's what she was doing. I hope the next three or four Missions involve really heavy lifting across water, hopefully some poo involved. I’ll watch it with great glee!"

On his exit, Kemp read a Shakespearean quote from Hamlet: "I think it's Polonius's advice to his son. 'To thine own self be true', and I have been true to myself, and I have been true to the faithfuls." He warned his killers: "Well played Traitors, but you're always gonna be Traitors, and I know where you live!"

Hall's Banishment and Traitor Turmoil

Kemp tipped Romesh Ranganathan, James A or James B, and Maya Jama as potential winners. Traitor Maya Jama expressed regret over killing Kemp, saying: "I loved you as a kid, and I loved you as a real person. You just fell into the worst trap ever, and I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry." Claudia Winkleman added: "Ross has been to some of the hostile places in the world, you know. Who knew that a beautiful castle in Scotland would finish him off?"

Jerry Hall, who was banished, admitted to having a fondness for Gardener's World presenter Monty Don. She said: "I do a bit of, you know, afternoon watching Monty Don." When Miranda Hart asked if she fancied him, Hall winked: "No, I do love Monty Don." Hall also mentioned her gardening activities: "I look after the veg patch, the chickens. I got eight Rhode Island Reds. Yeah. I do do quite a lot."

Hall said her favourite moment was the pirate ship mission, noting: "I was pretty good with my crowbar. Plus, Claudia's outfit was definitely the best." She hoped Leigh-Anne, Romesh, or Miranda would win.

Meanwhile, the traitors turned on each other after James Acaster refused to support his teammates during a chaotic mission in the Traitor's Lair. Acaster did not lift his blindfold, prompting Maya Jama to say: "I’m speechless. Acaster didn’t even lift his blindfold off." Kenny added: "Mate what is going on?" Acaster later apologised in the turret, admitting "I was too afraid!" and tried to get back in favour by saying: "When I killed Ross Kemp in plain sight I did love it!" The traitors decided to murder last night, with one of Romesh Ranganathan, Bash Croft, or Miranda Hart facing the chop.
