James Blunt may have accidentally revealed the identity of the second murder victim on Celebrity Traitors. The singer replied "Bingo" to a fan theory suggesting that Hannah Fry will survive the next murder, leading some viewers to believe Jerry Hall is the next to go.
Last week, 21 famous faces arrived at the Traitors castle to compete for a cash prize of up to £100,000 for charity. Claudia Winkleman selected Maya Jama and Richard E. Grant as the first two Traitors. They later recruited James Acaster, while Amol Rajan became the first player to be murdered.
Second mission and roundtable drama
The stars then took part in their second mission, which involved being buried alive. Jerry Hall asked to be removed from the coffin before the challenge began, which instantly put her up for murder alongside her partner Hannah Fry.
The first roundtable followed, with several names discussed. Julie Hesmondhalgh, Ross Kemp, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Richard all had to defend themselves before a cliffhanger ending.
James Blunt's social media clue
The series returns on Thursday night (October 8), when the first banished star will be revealed and the second murder will take place. Either Jerry or Hannah faces the chop.
Some viewers believe they already know who will be killed, after James Blunt dropped a clue on social media. This follows his roundtable accusation that Hannah was a recruited Traitor.
He said: "I think sometimes the simplest theory is probably the most correct theory, and what we do know is that we've had a murder, and we know we've had a recruitment. And if you are to murder and recruit, I think you're going to murder the biggest threat to you, and you're going to recruit the person who's even more threatening to you. The murder was Amol. The recruitment was Hannah."
One fan shared a theory on Instagram: "I'd like to think it's a tactic to keep her in the game. If her name is brought up the traitors are less likely to murder her." James seemingly confirmed the speculation by replying: "Bingo."
Lorraine Kelly weighs in
Lorraine Kelly discussed James's response on her ITV morning show on Thursday. She said: "Fans think they know who's going to be murdered next after a wee blunder by James Blunt.
"We last saw him accuse Hannah Fry, how dare he, of being a Traitor. But now, he's suggested he brought up her name [as] a red herring to save her, that's what he's saying!" The host concluded: "Does that mean she survives tonight or not?"
Ahead of the murder, there is still a banishment to complete, with Richard currently the bookies' favourite to be voted out. This comes after he accidentally admitted to being a Traitor in front of a group of Faithfuls.
Celebrity Traitors is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
