A man fatally shot in west London on Friday evening has been named and pictured for the first time. Lee Davidson, 40, was killed in East Acton at around 7.45pm on October 2.
Metropolitan Police were called to Braybrook Street after members of the public heard multiple shots. Officers attended alongside London Ambulance Service paramedics, but Mr Davidson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shooting during memorial gathering
Detectives believe the shooting took place while dozens of people, including children, were attending a memorial gathering nearby. Around 40 or 50 people are believed to have been present at the time.
A post-mortem examination has established that Mr Davidson died from a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. No arrests have been made.
Police appeal for witnesses
Detectives say they continue to work at pace to establish the full circumstances and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie, leading the investigation, said: “Our thoughts remain with Levi’s family and friends, after he was killed in such an act of senseless violence. We understand a large number of people had gathered for a memorial service and what should have been a time to come together in remembrance has instead left a family devastated.
“We believe there were more than 50 people in the area at the time and we are making a direct plea for anyone who was there to contact us. We know there are people who witnessed important moments before, during or after the shooting who have not yet come forward.
“If you were near Erconwald Street, Braybrook Street and Wormwood Scrubs playground between 18:00hrs and 20:00hrs, please think carefully about what you saw. Did you see anyone carrying or concealing weapons, people on bicycles acting suspiciously, or vehicles being driven at speed?
“We also want to hear from anyone with photographs, video, dashcam, doorbell or mobile phone footage. However insignificant it may seem, the smallest piece of information could prove crucial in helping us establish what happened and identify those responsible.”
