Celebrity Traitors Fans 'Obsessed' With BBC Cast Decision

Celebrity Traitors is back on BBC One and iPlayer, and fans are already "obsessed" with the new all-star cast. The hit reality gameshow spin-off returned for its second run on Thursday, October 1, with an extra-long opening episode.

21 New Famous Faces Head to the Scottish Highlands

Following the success of the first series last year, 21 celebrities have arrived at the castle in the Scottish Highlands for the ultimate game of deceit. The contestants include Amol Rajan, Bella Ramsey, James Acaster, James Blunt, Jerry Hall, Joanne McNally, Joe Lycett, Julie Hesmondhalgh, King Kenny, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Maya Jama, Michael Sheen, Miranda Hart, Myha'la, Professor Hannah Fry, Richard E. Grant, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Ross Kemp, Sebastian Croft and Sharon Rooney.

The game sees the celebrity contestants – the majority of whom are known as Faithfuls – try to seek out the murderous traitors among them, who kill off players in the middle of the night. Stars compete to win a cash prize of up to £100,000 for a charity of their choice.

Dramatic Opening and Fan Reaction

The stars entered a church one by one as they awaited further instructions. Maya Jama and Michael Sheen were among the first in, later followed by Romesh Ranganathan and Miranda Hart. Joe Lycett was the first star to notice the wording surrounding the church, which read "famous last words". Claudia Winkleman made her dramatic entrance out of a coffin as the Traitors chapel got underway.

Viewers rushed to social media to share their excitement over the casting. On X, @findmeonmars555 wrote: "This CASTTTTTTTTTTTT I was already seated but broooooo" as @georgiaeh17 gushed: "WHAT A CAST". Another viewer added: "What a incredible group. This is gonna be so much fun" as others said they were "obsessed" already.

Last year's final saw Nick Mohammed turn on Joe Marler at the last minute and vote him to be banished, with everyone else in agreement. Traitor Alan Carr remained undetected and swept the entire amount of £87,500 for his chosen charity, Neuroblastoma UK.
