Big Brother star Charlotte Nott has revealed she broke down crying in the garden after a comment from fellow housemate Rochelle Rackham, in a moment that was never shown on TV. The 18-year-old student, who is a quadruple amputee, shared the story during an appearance on Good Morning Britain on Friday, October 1.
Unseen emotional moment revealed
Charlotte, who lost her limbs to meningitis, entered the ITV2 house earlier this month, fulfilling a lifelong dream. However, she reached her limit after just 13 days and decided to quit, becoming the first housemate to voluntarily walk out of the current series.
During her GMB interview, hosts Kate Garraway and Ranvir Singh discussed a controversial comment made by 57-year-old Rochelle, who told Charlotte she has a bit of a fear of people with no arms. Rochelle admitted: "It's just something that's always freaked me out a bit. And when I saw you I was like 'Oh my god'. And I feel so ashamed because now I don't even look at it and to have what you've had done is just like unbelievable."
Charlotte's reaction to the comment
Charlotte later told other housemates she was not offended but found the comment rude. However, she revealed on GMB that the fallout was more intense than viewers saw. She explained: "A few days after that, they didn't show it, but I did break down crying in the garden. Not that it offended me, but I just felt like I was uncomfortable around her. Because I was like 'Well, she's told me she's scared of me and like I'm, how can I sit across [from] her?'"
The interaction left a mark on Charlotte, but she insisted it was not the sole reason for her early exit, although she confessed: "I think it just kind of added to it maybe a little bit."
Sharing the story on TikTok
Charlotte also posted the story on her TikTok page, explaining: "A few days after the Rochelle comment me and Yas had a heart to heart in the garden one night. I broke down crying saying it did actually bother me and I felt really uncomfortable in the house."
