Big Brother fans 'screaming' as new winner 'named'

Big Brother fans were left 'screaming' during the latest episode as many identified a new winner of the show. The latest instalment aired on Sunday (October 4) with more than one unexpected event.

New arrivals shake up the house

Scenes shown caught viewers up with events inside the house following Friday night's eviction, which saw Johanne become the third person to leave. However, the original housemates were not given much time to get comfortable. This was because two new arrivals soon introduced themselves, much to the rest of the group's surprise.

Twinks, 36, from London, and Catrin, 23, from Aberdare, were confirmed to be new 'fully fledged housemates' by Big Brother. Although they were not warmly welcomed by everyone.

House of Revelations task

Later, Catrin and Twinks were called to the Diary Room and handed the first task of what was known as the House of Revelations. They were told by Big Brother to select one DVD each from a special library. Each one held a conversation between select housemates. Upon discovering this, Phillip immediately told the group: "I'm sorry!"

Catrin and Twinks had to choose between titles such as 'which housemate put hair in Rochelle's bed?', 'Yasmin gives her opinion on Omar' and 'Rhianna as well as Pauline and Johanne discuss microtransgressions'. The pair opted for 'Sam calls out a s*** stirrer' and 'Which housemate put hair in Rochelle's bed?' It ended up being revealed as Sam.

Fans debate the choices

Some watching along at home believed these were the wrong choices. One person took to the Big Brother subreddit and posted: "They had ONE JOB. ONE!!! WHY didn’t they play the microaggressions conversation!!!!! I’m SCREAMING at my TV."

This sparked a debate over whether the new arrivals had been watching the show before their entrance. One suggested: "Contrary to what the housemates think, they definitely haven't been watching the show and have probably been locked away in a hotel. They had no context to how interesting or explosive that revelation would be."

But someone else theorised: "When Catrin arrived in the house and was meeting everyone she said something like “it’s like I’ve jumped into my telly” which makes me think they’ve been watching." Others believed as Johanna had been evicted, it would not be the best choice for the conversation to be shown. One replied: "What would even be the point when one of the main people involved isn’t there to defend herself?"

Twinks tipped to win

Many viewers seemed delighted by the new arrivals. So much so that one person posted: "Twinks to win at this point" while someone else agreed: "Even if you disagree with Twinks’ views, I think the way she’s handled herself has been commendable."

Several more people shared the same sentiment. One person shared on social media: "Thank goodness for Twinks, because the whole house was seriously I unlikeable, now I finally have some one to vote to win." Another added: "I am now president of the Twinks fan club! Love her!!! Twinks for the win!" While someone else commented: "Okay Twinks is my new favourite housemate for this year i need her to win."

Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
