The BBC has revealed the future of Amanda Holden and Alan Carr's popular travel series, which has seen the two best friends travelling abroad to renovate run-down properties before putting them up for sale.
The last series, Amanda & Alan's Greek Job, aired on BBC One in January, saw the famous pair tackle a renovation on a derelict house in Corfu. The crumbling property required heaps of work after sitting empty for years.
With help from a local developer, the TV stars salvaged original features that were buried under dust and damage and brought charm and character back to the two-bed house. Following the successful eight-episode series, the transformed stone villa in Kokkini was put up for sale on Rightmove for €675,000, which is around £589,800.
Show not returning next year
It has now been revealed the series, that started as Amanda & Alan's Italian Job, where they bought and renovated rundown €1 properties in Italy, before they moved on to Spain and then Greece, will not be returning next year.
A BBC spokesperson told The Sun newspaper: "They are both busy with other projects this year so whilst it won't be on in 2027, it is a hugely popular show, and the BBC looks forward to working more with Amanda and Alan in the future. We are delighted that viewers are still enjoying the last two series on iPlayer."
Amanda and Alan's other projects
The news comes as Amanda was seen returning to Britain's Got Talent filming this week, while Alan's success on The Celebrity Traitors has seen him snapped up by Disney+ for the series, Castle Man, which will see him renovate his own castle.
He previously said about his new show: "Some men when they have a midlife crisis buy a Lamborghini or grow a ponytail, but me - I want my very own castle. Since I was a boy in Northampton, I've always dreamt big, and have always been enchanted with the history and romance of a stately home and as I turn 50, I feel it's my time. All I want is a turret to call my own - get me over that drawbridge!"
