Crispin Glover Denies Battery and Assault Allegations in Lawsuit

Crispin Glover, the actor renowned for his role as George McFly in the Back To The Future franchise, has been accused of battery and assault in a lawsuit filed by a former girlfriend. The 61-year-old star, who also appeared in films like River's Edge, has vehemently denied the claims, with his lawyer stating he refutes the "baseless allegations in the strongest possible terms."

Details of the Allegations

According to a report by PEOPLE magazine, the lawsuit outlines a series of disturbing incidents where the accuser, identified as Jane Doe, alleges she was "essentially held captive and used for sex and free labor" by Glover under false pretenses. The filing includes accusations of battery, fraud, wrongful eviction, malicious prosecution, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Additionally, Glover is accused of violating California's civil rights law, known as the Bane Act.

Jane Doe, described as a model from the UK, claims she met Glover on social media 11 years ago. She alleges that while she initially considered him a friend, he made "strange advances" in messages, urging her to move to Los Angeles. They reportedly met in person eight years later in Dresden, Germany, where she says he showed her "several items of Nazi memorabilia" he had collected.

Claims of Grooming and Control

The lawsuit asserts that Glover groomed Jane Doe by promising her a new life, including a career in the entertainment industry, a home, and a job as his assistant if she relocated to LA in 2024. Upon her arrival in California, she alleges she found herself in a "disturbing situation" where Glover sought to control her actions and track her whereabouts, essentially serving as a live-in girlfriend and sex slave.

Jane Doe further claims she relied entirely on Glover's promises for money and shelter. In one incident, she alleges he locked her out of the home when she left to attend a mosque, describing herself as a practicing Muslim. When she returned, assuming it was an empty threat, she says he evicted her "without notice or warning of any kind," rendering her homeless.

Alleged Assault and Legal Actions

The lawsuit details an alleged assault where Glover is accused of attacking Jane Doe when she tried to retrieve her cats and belongings from the home. She claims he "grabbed her neck and choked her in a headlock, leaving a visible wound and scar on her neck." Additionally, she accuses him of filing a false police report labeling her as an unlawful intruder and obtaining a restraining order against her, while allegedly still contacting her to renew their sexual relationship.

In the complaint, the restraining order petition is described as "malicious" and "fraudulent," with Jane Doe insisting it was swiftly dismissed for failure to prosecute. She is seeking a jury trial and damages, including general, special, punitive, and exemplary damages, along with lawsuit costs and attorney fees.

Glover's Defense

Glover's representative issued a statement countering the allegations, asserting that on March 2, 2024, Glover was the victim of an unprovoked felony assault by Jane Doe at his Los Angeles residence. The statement notes that Glover called the LAPD, who investigated and arrested Jane Doe, with these facts documented by law enforcement records and a restraining order filed by Glover at the time.

The representative added, "Mr. Glover intends to vigorously defend himself and pursue all available relief. He is confident the judicial process will expose this lawsuit as a meritless fabrication." The case continues to unfold as both parties prepare for legal proceedings.
