Adam Peaty Escorted by Armed Police After Threats During Stag Do
Adam Peaty escorted by police after stag do threats

Olympic swimming champion Adam Peaty found himself at the centre of a security scare when he was escorted from his plane by armed police following disturbing threats made during his stag do in Budapest.

Airport Security Response

The 30-year-old athlete was met by five uniformed police officers when his flight touched down at Manchester Airport on Sunday night. According to sources, Peaty was flanked by the officers as he disembarked the aircraft and moved through immigration and baggage reclaim areas.

Authorities maintained heightened security throughout the terminal, monitoring CCTV for any suspicious activity. The swimming star was eventually escorted from the building directly into a waiting vehicle, completing the carefully coordinated security operation.

Threats Trigger Police Involvement

The significant police presence came after fears emerged that Peaty could be physically assaulted. The situation reportedly began when a shaken Peaty contacted his fiancée, Holly Ramsay, during his Budapest stag weekend. The 25-year-old daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay then alerted police about the concerning situation.

A friend close to the couple revealed: 'The issues that have been reported don't stem from hen do or wedding invitations; it goes so much deeper. Things escalated over the weekend when someone became increasingly abusive and threatening over text.'

The friend added that Peaty had been trying to enjoy his stag celebrations but became 'freaked out' by the persistent threats, which culminated in a specific warning that he would be 'met off the plane' upon his return to the UK.

Family Feud Boils Over

The security incident occurs against the backdrop of an increasingly public family dispute. Earlier this week, it emerged that Peaty's mother, Caroline, 59, had been disinvited from his upcoming Christmas wedding.

This dramatic development followed tensions that arose when bride-to-be Holly didn't include her future mother-in-law in her hen party at the exclusive Soho Farmhouse, which attracted celebrity guests including Victoria Beckham.

Peaty's aunt, Louise Williams, has been vocal about the family rift on social media platform Threads. In one emotional post, she claimed that Adam had said 'the most vile things a son can say to his mother' and asserted that her family 'place real value on love and loyalty'.

In another social media exchange, Louise appeared to accuse Adam and Holly of bullying behaviour, sharing a cryptic message about how 'a group of bullies consists of fewer bullies and more sycophants'.

A source close to Caroline Peaty expressed concern about the transformation in her son's behaviour since he began his relationship with Holly. 'Adam has changed so much ever since he has been with Holly,' they revealed. 'She's from a celebrity world and his parents are not, and his ego and self-importance has just got bigger.'

The source added that Caroline feels her son now sees her as 'not good enough' to match up with the Ramsays socially, creating heartbreak within the family.

Despite the family tensions, friends confirm that Holly's parents, Gordon and Tana Ramsay, have been '100 per cent supportive' of the couple throughout the difficult situation.

The Christmas wedding is scheduled to take place at Bath Abbey, with celebrations continuing at the lavish Kin House country estate near Chippenham. The sought-after venue can accommodate up to 200 guests and includes 12 bedrooms for overnight stays.

Representatives for both Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay have been approached for comment regarding the airport incident and ongoing family situation.
