Vernon Kay has named Jeremy Vine as Radio 2's "naughty boy", describing him as the "mischievous one" who is "great fun" in real life.
The 52-year-old presenter appeared on BBC Breakfast on Friday, September 4, to promote BBC Radio 2 in the Park, which is set to take place the following weekend. The event heads to City Park in Stirling from Friday, September 11 to Sunday, September 13, featuring live performances from some of the world's biggest pop acts, all introduced by Radio 2's presenters.

Speaking to hosts Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt, Vernon said: "It brings us all together. All the listeners, all the DJs who managed to get a ticket in one confined space and it's a celebration of BBC Radio 2 but also a celebration of the music we play."
He added: "It's so much fun. We've all grown up career wise together. It feels like a school trip when you felt different and actually feel like yourself rather than being trussed up in a school tie."
Who is the mischief maker?
When host Naga asked "Who's the mischief maker?", Vernon immediately replied "Rylan", referring to Rylan Clark. Naga then wondered: "Is the teacher Jeremy Vine?"
Vernon replied: "No, no, no, Vine is the one back of class flicking wet tissue at the teacher." He continued: "He's the mischievous one. He's the naughty boy but he's great fun. He's the current affairs person at BBC Radio 2 but he absolutely isn't that guy in real life. So funny."
Radio 2 in the Park line-up
Chaka Khan headlines Saturday evening while Simple Minds will conclude the two-day event on Sunday. The Script, ABC, Emeli Sandé, Lulu, Texas and Jack Savoretti are also featured in the line-up. The entire weekend's live performances will be transmitted on Radio 2 and BBC Sounds, alongside iPlayer.
Vernon presents weekday mid-morning programming on Radio 2, the nation's most popular radio programme attracting 6.63 million listeners weekly. This comes after last year's Radio 2 in the Park in Chelmsford, 2024's gathering in Preston and 2023's festival in Leicester.
