In a statement posted on Instagram and Facebook, Wasserman said: "It is with deep sadness that I have to announce that I need to step away from live performances for a while to deal with a sudden and fairly serious health issue."
He added: "The rest of the band has my back, is super supportive, and will keep rocking you all in my absence. I hope to be back on stage sooner rather than later. Until then, I will miss all of you with all of my heart. Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts. I really appreciate it. - Noodles."

Bandmates Like Brothers
In a 2024 chat with People, Noodles said his bandmates were like brothers to him. Speaking about fellow founding member Dexter Holland, he joked the pair operate as "brothers, friends [and] bitter enemies at times."
He said: "No, we do have our disagreements and our arguments usually around stuff that has nothing to do with music. But ultimately we have a lot of mutual respect for each other and love for each other."
