Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Horror: Singer Reveals Skin 'Flapping Off' After On-Stage Fall
Taylor Swift reveals horrific Eras Tour injury in new doc

Global superstar Taylor Swift has shared a shocking and gruesome account of a serious injury she sustained during her record-breaking Eras Tour, revealing a moment where her skin was left 'flapping off' her hand.

The On-Stage Accident

The singer's candid admission features in the latest instalment of her new documentary series, 'Taylor Swift: The End of an Era', which is currently streaming on Disney+. The six-part series provides an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at the creation and execution of one of the most successful concert tours in history.

Swift describes the incident, which occurred during a show in Texas in April 2023. While running offstage during the transition from her 'Evermore' set, she tripped over the hem of her dress. 'I bust my knee. I skid the palm of my hand off,' she recalls in the documentary. 'Hobble into the quick-change room, blood's coming down my hand.'

Powering Through the Pain

Despite the severe injury, the performer demonstrated remarkable professionalism. She still managed to complete a complex costume change, often timed to take as little as 39 seconds, to emerge in her next outfit—the iconic bodysuit from her 'Reputation' era.

It was then she noticed the full extent of the damage. 'A piece of my skin was flapping off,' Swift explains. With no time to spare and no first aid immediately available, she took matters into her own hands. 'I just pull it off. More blood. They don't have a Band-Aid back there.' Her proud conclusion? 'Wasn't late. Wasn't late for the intro of that song.'

Fans Notice and Documentary Success

Although the incident was not publicly addressed at the time, her devoted fans, known as Swifties, quickly spotted the injury in subsequent performances. 'The fans noticed it a couple of days later,' Swift said. 'They're like, "Oh, her palm's gone." I was like, "I am not acknowledging this. What? Nothing's wrong, it's always been like that."'

The documentary series, which began a weekly two-episode release schedule last week, has already been a major hit with viewers. It showcases the immense physical preparation for the tour, including intense rehearsals and gym workouts. In a festive surprise for fans, it was recently announced that the final two episodes will now drop on December 23, earlier than initially planned.

The series also features other emotional and revealing moments, such as Swift awarding bonus payments to her hardworking team and her first public comments on the tragic Southport attacks.
